Masala Dosa

This is one of my all time favourites. When we go to India to visit our family the first thing i want to do[after jet lag]is go to the "Pathans" Restaurant and have Masala Dosa. It is so yummy and delicious.Unfortunately we don't have that restaurant here is US.So i make it at home:)

Onion-1 [optional]

Frozen peas-1/2 cup

Ginger chopped-1 tsp

green chillies-2 split in half

For seasoning:

Mustard seeds-1 tsp
Red chillies-2
curry leaves-a few
oil-1-2 tbs

turmeric powder-1/2 tsp

Salt- to taste

Water-1/2 cup

Cook the potatoes, peel the skin and cut into

chunks.Set Aside.

In a pan add the oil, mustard seeds, red chillies

& curry leaves, when mustard seeds splutters

add the ginger, green chillies and onion.Saute

until the raw smell of onions disappear.

Add the chopped carrots and peas and saute for

5 minutes . Add the turmeric powder,salt,cooked

potatoes and 1/2 cup water.Cover it and cook in

medium flame for 8-10 minutes stirring

Enjoy with Dosa ,Sambar & Coconut Chutney.
