Mambhazha Pulisherry/Ripe Mango Curry
This is one of the authentic kerala recipes.I luv the sweetness of the mangoes in this curry. It is very colorful and goes very well as a side dish with Rice.
Ripe Mango-2[I used Manilla mangoes]
Fresh grated coconut-3/4 cup
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Red chillie powder-1-2 tsp
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Coconut oil-2 tsp
Curry leaves-a few
Cut the mango in to big chunks with the skin and the seeds. Cook them with 1 cup of water,turmeric,red chillie powder and salt.
In a blender, blend together the coconut,green chillies,cumin seeds and buttermilk to a fine paste.
Add this to the cooked mangoes and bring it to a boiling point. Remove from the flame.
Add the mustard seeds,oil,red chillies,curry leaves and fenugreek in a kadai and when mustard seeds splutters pour this to the mango curry. Serve hot.
