Rolled Sugar Cookies with M&M's
These are one of the quick , easy ,soft and chewy rolled sugar cookies that i have ever tried. My son enjoys rolling the cookies in colored sprinkles.I make 3-4 batches of these cookies to take back to India when we go to visit our parents , relatives and friends .They all love these cookies because it is yummy and egg less.
Ingredients
Butter-1cup softened
Cream Cheese-3 Oz softened
Sugar-3/4 cup
Eggs/egg replacer -1
Vanilla - 1tsp
All purpose flour-3 cups
Method
Preheat oven-350 Degrees
In a large bowl cream together butter, cream cheese, sugar until creamy. Add the egg replacer/eggs,sugar,vanilla and beat 2 more minutes.
Scrap down the bowl.Add Flour and beat until well mixed.
Divide the dough in to 2 equal parts and refrigerate for 2 hours.
Roll the cookies in parchment paper 1/8" thick.Cut out any shape you want with the cookie cutters. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges of the cookies are light brown.Remove from the cookie sheet and let it cool completely.
Note - For this recipe i used 1 1/2 tsp egg replacer and 3 tbs warm water.
If you are planning to put M&M's on the cookies -press the M&M's on the cookie when they are still warm.
If you are an almond fan use 1/2 tsp of almond extract and 1/2 tsp vanilla.
This goes to Madhuram's "EggReplacement Event" and Srilekha's "Microwave Oven Series" event
