Oats Upma
Oats Upma
This upma is on of the easiest upma's in the world and healthy too.When i am in a hurry i always make this upma. The method used is same as poha upma.This upma can be served with yougurt and pickle.
Ingredients:
Quick cooking Oats - 1 cup
Carrots-shredded 1/4cup
Seasoning
Mustard seeds-1tsp
urad dal-1tsp
curry leaves-7-8
red chillies-2
green chillies-2 split in half
ginger-1/2tsp chopped[optional]
oil-2 tsp
salt-to taste
broken cashews-handful
fresh grated coconut-1/4cup
Method:
Wash the oats and strain it in a strainer.Let the water drip out. Set aside.
In a pan add oil,mustard seeds,uraddal,redchillies and curry leaves .when it splutters add the ginger and green chillies and carrots. Saute for 4-5 miniutes on medium heat. Add salt and the oats and saute it for 4-5 miniutes. Add coconut and remove from the flame. Garnish it with broken cashews.
Serve Hot.
